Regional Economy

Given the speed with which the economy is changing because of the COVID-19 outbreak, we recently launched a weekly survey to increase the timeliness of data focused on aspects of firm demand, production, and employment.

Click here to access results of the new survey as well as other timely data about the economic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on our economy.

Given the sudden, extreme impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on initial unemployment claims in recent weeks, our researchers’ standard approaches for estimating state leading indexes and state unemployment rates are not appropriate. Therefore, we have suspended the release of State Leading Indexes and State Unemployment Rate Nowcasts indefinitely.
