Loretta J. Mester, Former Executive Vice President and Director of Research

Loretta Mester is the former executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. As director of research, she led a staff of economists and analysts who conduct research on macroeconomics, banking, payments, finance, and the regional economy.

Mester also directed the Bank's Financial Statistics Department, which collects data and reports from financial institutions, and the Payment Cards Center, which conducts research on consumer finance and payments. She also served on the Bank's senior management committee. Mester became the president and chief executive officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland on June 1, 2014.
