Philadelphia Fed Appoints New Members to Economic and Community Advisory Council

Philadelphia, PA —The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has appointed three new members to its Economic and Community Advisory Council (ECAC), a committee that informs the Bank’s senior leadership team about emerging issues and market conditions in the Third Federal Reserve District and nationwide. The new members are Martin P. Connor, CFO of Toll Brothers, Inc., a luxury homebuilder and Fortune 500 company; Joseph Sheetz, CEO of Sheetz, Inc., a convenience retailer based in Altoona, PA; and Dana Strong, president of Xfinity consumer services for Comcast Cable.

Donald F. Schwarz, senior vice president, program, for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy dedicated to health, was reappointed as chair of ECAC this year.

Created in 2008, the ECAC is composed of up to 15 leaders representing businesses of varying sizes and in different industry sectors as well as nonprofit organizations, philanthropic organizations, academic institutions, the public sector, and organized labor. The ECAC extends partnerships with organizations from the private and public sectors and fosters greater integration and collaboration to have a broader impact on the Third Federal Reserve District and to encourage economic growth.

Martin P. ConnorMartin P. Connor

Connor has been CFO of Toll Brothers since 2010 and previously served as an audit and advisory business services partner at Ernst & Young. He serves on the advisory council of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and on the board of trustees of Holy Ghost Preparatory School, his high school. Connor is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

Joseph SheetzJoseph Sheetz

Sheetz began working at Sheetz, Inc., founded by his uncle, when he was in high school and has held numerous positions, including president, executive vice president of finance, and director of personnel. He serves on the executive committee of the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation, where he was chairman from 2009 to 2011. Sheetz has a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dana StrongDana Strong

As president of Xfinity consumer services for Comcast Cable, Strong oversees the Xfinity brand and products. Before joining Comcast, she served as president and chief operating officer at Virgin Media, and senior vice president and chief transformation officer at Liberty Global. Strong is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School of Business and a bachelor of arts in history from the College of Arts and Sciences.
