PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has announced the reappointment of Garry Maddox, CEO of A. Pomerantz & Company, Philadelphia, and president of World Wide Concessions Inc., Bellmawr, N.J., to its board of directors. Maddox was first appointed to the board in 2003. He will begin his second three-year term in January 2007.
A former professional baseball player, Maddox was a center fielder for the San Franciso Giants (1972-1975) and for the Philadelphia Phillies (1975-1986). He is the winner of eight Gold Glove awards.
Maddox is the founder and president of the Youth Golf & Academics Program, an organization that works with inner-city youth in Philadelphia and Camden. Maddox serves on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Fairmount Park Commission, National Adoption Center, and Neumann College. He is also a Vietnam veteran.
