Maddox Reappointed to the Philadelphia Fed's Board

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has announced the reappointment of Garry Maddox, CEO of A. Pomerantz & Company, Philadelphia, and president of World Wide Concessions Inc., Bellmawr, N.J., to its board of directors. Maddox was first appointed to the board in 2003. He will begin his second three-year term in January 2007.

A former professional baseball player, Maddox was a center fielder for the San Franciso Giants (1972-1975) and for the Philadelphia Phillies (1975-1986). He is the winner of eight Gold Glove awards.

Maddox is the founder and president of the Youth Golf & Academics Program, an organization that works with inner-city youth in Philadelphia and Camden. Maddox serves on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Fairmount Park Commission, National Adoption Center, and Neumann College. He is also a Vietnam veteran.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia helps formulate and implement monetary policy, supervises banks and bank holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government. One of the 12 regional Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System, the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank serves eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
