Philadelphia Fed Appoints New Community Banking Council Members

PHILADELPHIA - The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has appointed six business leaders to serve on its Community Bank Council for three-year terms beginning in 2004. Council members advise Federal Reserve officials about regional business conditions and economic issues that have an impact on the marketplace.

John W. Adonizio is chairman and president of Landmark Community Bank, Pittston, Pa. He is self-employed as a registered investment adviser. He is a former member of the Philadelphia Fed Community Bank Council, serving from 1995 to 1998. He has a bachelor's degree from King's College, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and an MBA from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Thomas A. Bracken is president and CEO of Sun National Bank, Vineland, N.J. He serves on the boards for the College of New Jersey, Ewing, N.J., and the New Jersey Bankers Association, Princeton, N.J. Bracken is vice chairman of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Trenton, N.J., and chairman of the Keep New Jersey Moving Coalition and the Economic Development Corp. of Trenton. He serves on the board of the New Jersey Alliance for Action and the Shop Rite LPGA Golf Classic. Bracken is chairman of the finance committee for the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, New Brunswick, N.J., and serves on the board of the New Jersey Network, Trenton, N.J., and South Jersey Industries, Folsom, N.J. Bracken has a bachelor's degree in political science from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa.

Donna M. Coughey is president, CEO, and director of Chester Valley Bancorp. Inc, Downingtown, Pa. She serves on the board of the Chester County Economic Development Council, Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville, Pa. She also serves on the boards of YMCA of the Brandywine Valley, Coatesville, Pa.; Chester County Community Foundation; Wilmington College, New Castle, Del.; and the United Way of Chester County. She received an MBA from Villanova University.

John T. Parry is president and CEO of The First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown, Newtown, Pa. He serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers, Harrisburg, and as a vice chairman of the board for the Credit Counseling Center, Richboro, Pa. He is a member of the boards for the Joint Downtown Newtown Corp., Newtown Artesian Water Company, and the Community Welfare Council of Newtown. He is a member of the Newtown Township Economic Development Corp. Parry has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University, West Palm Beach, Fla.

Michael M. Quick is chairman and CEO of Susquehanna Patriot Bank, Marlton, N.J. He also is senior vice president and group executive of Susquehanna Bancshares Inc., Lititz, Pa. He is a director of the New Jersey Bankers Association, Princeton, N.J. He serves on the boards of Virtua Health System Ambulatory and the Evesham Education Foundation, both in Marlton, N.J. Quick has bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Albright College, Reading, Pa.

Peter C. Zimmerman is president and CEO of First National Bank of Newport, Newport, Pa. He is the treasurer and director of Perry County Council of the Arts. He has a bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College and an MBA from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Zimmerman attended the graduate school of banking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves depository institutions in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. The Bank supplies cash to the banks and thrifts, supervises them, collects and processes about 5 million checks daily, wires money and securities nationwide, and participates in the broader objective of setting monetary policy.
