Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Names Vice President in Research Department

PHILADELPHIA - The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has announced Michael Dotsey's appointment to Vice President and Senior Economic Policy Adviser in the Research Department. Dotsey was vice president and economist in the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Research Department. In addition to his experience with the Federal Reserve, he has served as a visiting scholar for the Bank of Japan, the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Swiss National Bank, the Bank of Portugal, and the Bank of England. He also was a visiting associate professor at the University of Rochester and a visiting instructor at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Dotsey is a member of the American Economic Association and the Society for Economic Dynamics. He holds a doctorate and master's degree in economics from the University of Rochester and a bachelor's degree and masters in business administration from the University of Chicago.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves depository institutions in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. The Bank supplies cash to these banks and thrifts, supervises them, collects and processes about 5 million checks daily, wires money and securities nationwide, as well as participates in the broader objective of setting monetary policy.
