The Community Development and Regional Outreach performs two primary functions: community development and financial institutions relations. The department's mission is to support the Federal Reserve System's economic growth objectives by promoting community development and fair and impartial access to credit.
We are committed to ensuring that more people in our region understand the financial system and what is available to them in terms of services and information. We provide high-quality tools, research, and programs that connect people to information and resources. In 2017, we launched the Economic Growth & Mobility Project, a multilevel effort to bring entrepreneurial solutions to achieve inclusive economic growth and create pathways out of poverty in communities across the Third District and our nation.
The division places a high value on its relationships within the industry and looks forward to exploring future opportunities to collaborate with your organization.
Our community development staff works closely with financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to foster public-private partnerships that promote community revitalization and household financial stability. The department also assists financial institutions with understanding their responsibilities under the federal Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
Our financial institutions relations outreach program is designed to engage with financial institutions to foster a continuing dialogue that informs our leadership, strengthens the industry, and advances regional economies.
