Community Profile: Trenton-Ewing, NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)

Introduction

The Trenton-Ewing, NJ MSA consists of Mercer County and includes the principal cities of Trenton and Ewing.* While Ewing is defined as a principal city by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), it is considered a township in the state of New Jersey.

The MSA is located on the western side of New Jersey and borders Pennsylvania. The city of Trenton, located along the Delaware River, is the state capital of New Jersey. The city of Ewing is located northwest of Trenton. The MSA is also part of the combined statistical area for New York-Newark-Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA.

For the remainder of this report, we will refer to the area of Mercer County as the Trenton-Ewing, NJ MSA.
